Cinephiles wanted: Join our movie club

If you are a cinephile and would like to watch and discuss movies with other cinephiles, this is your chance!

The Stanford Alumni Club of Philadelphia Movie Club is open to new members.  The format is similar to a book club:  we watch 2-3 movies selected by the Club on our own (such as via Netflix or Amazon) and then meet about once a month on a Saturday afternoon to discuss them.  Themes have included the oeuvre of an actor, movies from or about the Middle East, and movies that have superior screenplays.

Please contact Suzanne Swann, MS ’88 at if you are interested.

Donate Used Books for PROJECT HOME thru April 17, 2021

Dear Fellow Stanford Alumni,

We have more volunteers to collect books for Project Home! As a reminder, we are collecting gently used books – including children’s books but not including encyclopedias, text books, or periodicals – that Project HOME will sell via Amazon and other websites.

Project HOME has sold thousands of used books, creating jobs for its residents and generating revenue to support its mission to help the homeless.

I would like to thank Harry Ting, Hazami Sayed, Diane Shropshire, David Warner, Shannon Farmer, Kristen Bowman, Anna Durbin, and Aparana Chhibber for volunteering to collect books.

We will be accepting book donations from April 11 to April 17, 2021. If you have books to donate, please use one of the following options:

1)    Drop off books in a labeled box near the front door at 170 Gulph Hills Rd, Wayne, PA 19087.
